El C. Vice Gefe del Estado se ha servilo dirigirme el decreto siguiente

DECRETO
El C. Vice Gefe del Estado de Guatemala.
Por cuanto la Asamblea legislativa tubo à bien decretar y
el Consejo Representativo sancionar lo siguiente.

La Asambléa legislativa del Estado de guatemala, teniendo en concideracion
las criticas sircustancias en que se haya el mismo Estado:
amenazada su existencia politica por la autoridad ejecutiva de la republica,
y siendo un deber del cuerpo Legislativo dictar todas las resoluciones
combenientes à fin de reponer las cosas al Estado constitucional,
la tenido à bien decretar y decreta.

1. Se levantaran milicias en el Estado, con la denominacion de
voluntarios Defensores de la Constitucion.

2. Podran alistarce én las milicias de voluntarios, los individuos
de la civica, y activa, y à estos ultimas se les computarà triple el tiempo.
que sirviesen como voluntarios.

3. Los alistamentos seràn por el termino de tres meses, à menos
que antes se haya asegarado la independencia y fueros del Estado, pues
en este caso se retiraran los voluntarios que no quieran continuar en la
milicia activa.

4. Quedan eceptuados del primer sorteo para la milicia activa todos
los Ciudadanos que sean alistados en la voluntaria.

5. El Gobierno formarà un reglamento para la organizacion de los
cuerpos voluntarios defensores de la Constitucion, y dictará las medidas
necesarias para su arreglo y disciplina.

Comuniquese al consejo Representativo para su sancion= Dado en
la Villa de S. Martin Xilotepeque à dies y ocho de Septiembre de
mil ochosientos veinte y seis= Nicolas Espinosa Diputado Presidente
= Eusebio Arzuate Diputado secretario = Jose Mariano Vidaurre

Y habriendo dispuesto el Vice Gefe del Estado se imprima,

, y circule, de su orden lo comunico à U. acompanondole
suficiente numero de exemplares al efecto.
