dc.description.abstract In order to determine the characteristic of the 11.50 Mev excited state of the reactions 12C (d,pQ)13C, 12C(d,nQ)13N, 12C(d,pj)13C* (3.03 Mev state) and 12C(d,d)12C were investigated with deuteron energies in the neighborhood of the sharp proton resonance at 1.446 Mev. No corresponding resonance in neutrons was observed, and a lower limit on the ratio of ground state protons to ground state neutrons was found to be greater than twelve. Results indicate that this state looks most like the first excited state of the A=13 system plus a nucleon.
