dc.description.abstract Systematic experimental results of pressure recovery efficiency and loss coefficient of conical diffusers are presented. The Reynolds number of water flow may be up to 3.5x105. Area ratios of the downstream pipes to the upstream pipe were 2.25:11 4:11 9:1, 16:11 and 25:1. The cone angles of the diffusers were 10°, 30°, 45°, 60°, go°, 120° and 180°. Fully developed turbulent flow entered the diffusers.
