Homecoming King and Queen, Rice University
In 1994, students elected a ferret and a cardboard cutout of Governor Ann Richards for homecoming king and queen.
The Rice University Homecoming king, represented by a ferret, held by a Rice student in a suit jacket and white shorts, and the homecoming queen, represented by a cardboard cutout of Texas Governor Ann Richards, held from behind by another student, standing on the football field in Rice Stadium. A third student, in yellow tee-shirt and white shorts, is holding what appears to be a tiara. There are many students crowded on the field behind the three students, as well as crowds of spectators in the bleachers. Photograph taken by Tommy LaVergne. Original resource is a color slide.
