Collection Description

Images captured by emeritus and currently teaching faculty members of the Art History Department during research trips in Europe, India and the United States from the 1950s to the present day. Major concentrations in Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Garden design, and Sculpture. Focused along the professors’ teaching interests, major chronological groupings highlight Medieval Europe through the Rococo period, with special emphasis on major architectural monuments; architecture of the ancient Mediterranean; Renaissance and Baroque sculpture; Modern European and American architecture; major gardens of 18th-century Britain and France; the architecture of Colonial and Federal Period America, with a special emphasis on garden design.
