    Abstract
    The interviewee of this particular interview is Jimmy (Cho-Liang) Lin. He is originally from Taiwan and moved to Sydney, Australia to further his violin studies at the age of 11 at the Sydney Conservatorium. When he turned 16, he moved to New York City to study under professor, Dorothy DeLay, at the Juilliard School of Music. Now, Mr. Lin teaches at both Juilliard and Shepherd school of music at Rice University. He is married to Deborah Lin and is the father of Laura Lin.

    This recording and transcript form part of a collection of oral history interviews conducted by the Chao Center for Asian Studies at Rice University. This collection includes audio recordings and transcripts of interviews with Asian Americans native to or living in Houston.
