Dr. Sanford Higginbotham, professor in Rice University’s Department of History. Higginbotham is seated at his desk, wearing a suit and tie, glancing down at one of several sheets of paper scattered before him. A daily calendar, a pen and pencil holder, a hole punch, and various other objects are on the desk, along with in and out trays. A full bookcase can be seen along the left-hand side wall, a work table in front of a window with drawn venetian blinds, and in the right background a large volume on a small display table, beneath a framed portrait. There is a white sticker on the lower left-hand side of the photograph, with ‘Sanford Higgenbotham’ typed on it (the last name is misspelled), and a portion of the upper right-hand margin has been torn away. Original resource is a color sepia photograph.
