dc.description Panoramic group photograph of the guests at a luncheon given by Houston Mayor Horace Rice for the trustees and faculty of the William M. Rice Institute. The guests are arranged in three long rows, with the first row seated, on the sidewalk in front of Houston's City Auditorium. A number of the guests are in military uniform. Two lampposts can be seen on the sidewalk, along with the large arched doorways into the auditorium. Written on the lower right-hand corner: “Novelty Studio (C)”. Original resource is a sepia photograph.
