dc.description.abstract J. David Hellums joined the Rice faculty. He went on to chair the Chemical Engineering Department for 6 years, becoming a founding member of the Biomedical Engineering Laboratory and its director for 10 years. He also served as the Dean of Engineering for 8 years.
