Dr. Gallagher working on the Zuckermann kit harpsichord
Dr. Gallagher, about whom no more information is known, shown sawing a piece of wood in a garage near Rice University. Gallagher is assembling a harpsichord, using the ‘Zuckermann kit’, designed by harpsichord maker Wolfgang Zuckermann. Gallagher is wearing a white sweatshirt, a pipe in his mouth, and is leaning over a work table, running a piece of wood over a table saw. Stacks of differently sized wood are visible behind him. ‘Dick Kenyon, Houston’ is printed on the bottom right-hand corner. Original resource is a black and white photograph.
Constructed in the garage workshop of a local doctor, Dr. Gallagher (no more information known), the Zuckerman kit harpsichord eventually found its home in the Rice Memorial Center Chapel.
