1970 Campaniles on display during Homecoming, Rice University
Two people beside a table displaying Rice University’s Campanile Yearbook, published in conjunction the 1970 Homecoming celebrations. The setting is a wood-paneled room, with the upper portions of potted plants visible from behind a stack of boxes stamped with ‘Campanile’ and ‘1970’. One person is standing beside the table, looking through a copy of the yearbook while another sits on a chair, folding a cardboard box. Also visible are several bulletin boards covered with photographs and other material. Original resource is a color slide.
The 1970 Campanile yearbook is unique at Rice University, as the only year in which the yearbook was not published in a traditional book format. It is a box with multiple booklets inside and a 45rpm vinyl record. The first Homecoming and Reunion at Rice Institute occurred in 1919.
