Dr. Gilbert Cuthbertson, also known as "Doc C," came to Rice in 1963 to teach Political Science. The following year he became a Resident Associate (RA) at Will Rice College. He is the longest serving RA at Rice University.
Description
Dr. Gilbert Cuthbertson, professor in Rice University’s Department of Political Science. Cuthbertson is wearing a white shirt, dark pants, and a patterned necktie. He is standing in his office, resting his arms on two of the many stacks of books, and paintings which are crowding the room. In the left foreground is a desk or table, covered with books, a wicker picnic basket, shopping bag, and an oil painting of President Dwight Eisenhower. Against the back wall is a large bookcase, and books can be seen placed on top of the bookcase, rising up to the ceiling. In the right foreground a framed painting of the Mexican military and political figure Santa Anna can partially be seen, along with a large book with the Virgin of Guadalupe on the cover.
