Administration Building exterior view of eastern facade, Rice Institute
A view of the William M. Rice Institute’s Administration Building, as seen from the front drive. The central Sallyport, balconies, and high arched windows are all clearly visible. Construction scaffolding can be made out in the interior of the Sallyport and there are two persons on the exterior side, along with an automobile and a cart on the left-hand side of the building. On the right-hand side, partially hidden by a lamppost, a worker is stooping over, and in the right foreground three additional workers can be seen. Written along the bottom of the photograph: “Administration Building from the front. Oct 9, 1912". Original resource is a black and white photograph.
