William Ward Watkin in Granada, Spain
William Ward Watkin, with unidentified others, in Granada, Spain, presumably in the Alhambra. The party is dressed in Moorish fashion, with Watkin, another man, and a young boy wearing turbans, robes, and capes. Watkin is seated under an arch, in part of a stylized backdrop, with tiles, elaborate columns, and a painting showing a harbor setting in the background. Watkin’s companions are a man, standing beside him, a woman seated slightly in front and holding a cup, and a young boy seated on the carpet. There is also a small table with either a hookah or a samovar, along with a vase, a teapot and a pitcher. Original resource is a black and white photograph.
