The two-storied home of William Ward Watkin, the principal architect of the William M. Rice Institute campus, as well as a faculty member. The house was located at 5009 Caroline, Houston, Texas, and the photograph shows it from the side, following a remodeling effort which extended the roof to cover the front porch, with a support of six columns.
