Cohen House courtyard, Rice Institute
A gathering of people in the courtyard of the William M. Rice Institute’s Cohen House. The majority of the men are wearing light colored suits, the women in light dresses, many of them with hats. A mosaic water feature is in the center of the courtyard, and some of the women are seated on chairs in the foreground. The arches and covered walkway are just visible on the right-hand side, and a palm tree is leaning above the courtyard from the left, its upper fronds level with the second story of the building. Written on the lower right-hand corner is: "1934. 6-4 Schleuter, Houston Tex." Original resource is a black and white photograph.
