Three temporary on-loan sculptures on Rice's campus. The sculptures (from the foreground) are “Spitball”, “Marriage” and “The Snake is Out”. The sculptures were created by Tony Smith. Original resource is a black and white photograph.
Sculpture names from foreground "Spitball," "Marriage," and "The Snake Is Out" [?]. The three sculptures part of six overall on campus were commissioned plywood mock-ups. They were on loan from the Museum of Modern Art in New York and visited Rice through the efforts of the Rice Institute for the Arts.
