Ray Watkin Hoagland at Rice University
Ray Watkin Hoagland Strange, standing in the Academic Quad, framed by a hedge and a cypress tree. She is wearing a blue dress with a gold pattern, and is holding what looks like a folded newspaper in her hand. Lovett Hall can be seen in the background, with many rows of empty folding chairs set up across the quad and a small covered dias. Original resource is a color photograph.
Ray Watkin Strange, William Ward Watkin's eldest child, graduated from Rice in 1936 and served Rice in many areas, working on university committees, permanently endowing the William Ward Watkin Traveling Scholarship in Architecture, and supporting the Rice University Archives named in honor of her parents.
