Dr. Stephen Klineberg in office, Rice University
Dr. Stephen Klineberg, professor in Rice University’s School of Social Sciences, standing in his office, in front of a crowded bookcase. He is smiling broadly, sleeves rolled up, and with his arms crossed. Alongside the books on the bookcase are a couple of photographs, as well as figurines of a mallard and an owl. Original resource is a black and white photograph.
Dr. Klineberg is the Co-Director of the Kinder Institute for Urban Research and a Professor of Sociology at Rice University. In 1982 he and his students initiated the annual Houston Area Survey, now in its 29th year of tracking the changes in the demographic patterns, life experiences, attitudes, and beliefs of Harris County residents.
