dc.description Ralph Anderson, Jr., in shirtsleeves and tie, leaning over a desk and gazing off camera, holding a ruler in his right hand. The desk is covered with blueprints, and the blind’s on the office window are drawn. Anderson was a graduate of the William M. Rice Institute and worked as an architect in Houston, Texas, eventually becoming president of the Wilson, Morris and Crain architectural firm. Original resource is a black and white photograph.
dc.description.abstract Ralph Anderson, Jr graduated from Rice Institute in 1943 with a B.A. degree in Architecture. While at Rice, he won The American Institute of Architecture Student Medal, and was the first architectural student at the university to be elected to Phi Beta Kappa, a national honorary fraternity. He returned to Rice after serving in World War II and received a B. S. degree in Architecture in 1947.
