    Description
Clippings from the Galveston Daily News Sunday, October 13, 1912 edition. The separate stories are headlined 'Remarkable Group of Distinguished Men’ and ‘Educators Visit Shores of the Gulf’. There is a photograph of the William M. Rice Institute’s dedication ceremony, showing President Lovett, wearing a graduation mortarboard, delivering a speech, flanked by fellow dignitaries, including members of the Board of Trustees, the Texas Supreme Court, clergy, and foreign officials, all bareheaded. Members of the audience, most in academic costume, can be seen in the foreground. Original resources are newspaper clippings.
