The Roost, a student lounge in Fondren Library, Rice Institute
A view of the student lounge and snack bar which was located in the basement of Fondren Library. The room is deserted, with lunch tables and chairs in the foreground, armchairs and wall lamps in the background. Rows of overhead lamps can be seen along the ceiling, and there is an ashtray on each of the lunch tables. In the upper foreground is a shingle-sign for ‘The Roost’, which was the men’s restroom, and further down the wall is a similar sign for ‘The Coop’, which was the women’s restroom.. Original resource is a black and white photograph.
