dc.description This recording and transcript form part of a collection of oral history interviews conducted by the Chao Center for Asian Studies at Rice University. This collection includes audio recordings and transcripts of interviews with Asian Americans native to or living in Houston.
dc.description.abstract Bobby Joe Moon was born in Cleveland, Mississippi, June 15th, 1944, and lived most of his life in the South. Both of his parents originally come from Kaiping county of Guangdong, China. He studied at Mississippi State University and graduated with a degree in accounting. Throughout his career he worked as an auditor for different sectors of the government and has recently retired. He has also been on numerous boards and was one of the pioneers who served for the rights of Asian Americans. He is also very involved with the Chinese Baptist Church. He is married and has two daughters, who both live in Texas. Most of his close family members lives in Texas with the exception of his two sisters, who live in Sacramento, California.
