Wiess College theater, George Greanias publicity photo for Hello Hamlet!, Rice University
Publicity photograph for a production of the musical travesty “Hello Hamlet!” written by then-Rice sophomore George Greanias. The image shows an actor with a human skull, holding the head of Greanias at arms’ length, a parody of the classic scene from Shakespeare’s play in which Hamlet soliloquizes over the skull of Yorick. Original resource is a black and white photograph.
This photograph was taken to publicize the first performance. Currently, the Wiess Tabletop Theater performs "Hello Hamlet!" every four years.
