Rice Players performing The Maids, Rice University
Around 1951 the Rice Players formed with the help of Dr. Willard Thorpe after a reorganization of the Dramatic Club (1921-1951).
Two female actresses during a performance of Jean Genet’s “The Maids” (original French title of “Les Bonnes”). The actress on the left is wearing a traditional maid’s uniform and is helping the other actress with her floor-length gown. The structure of the set can be seen behind the actresses, and the camera angle is at a tilt. Original resource is a black and white photograph.
