This recording and transcript form part of a collection of oral history interviews conducted by the Vietnamese American Heritage Foundation and donated to the Chao Center for Asian Studies at Rice University. This collection includes video recordings of interviews with Vietnamese Americans native to or living in Texas. This interview forms part of the national 500 Oral Histories Project conducted by the Vietnamese American Heritage Foundation.

Abstract
Le Huong Stephen was born 25 December 1949 in Saigon. He is one of 9 children. He was drafted into the military in Vietnam. He speaks about his time in the military. His occupation in America is that of a real estate commercial developer. He is Buddhist. He has three children. When asked about his fondest memory of Saigon, he recalls the clubs and night life. He recalls the status of Saigon during the Vietnam Conflict as well-off, as businesses were still running and people still went out at night, specifically mentioning his preferred hot spots. He speaks fondly about his parents, specifically recalling his father’s tendency to bring his children to exceptional food places that he discovers, a practice he applies in his own parenting.
