Description
Black and white action shot photograph taken during a Rice Institute baseball game. On the right side of the photograph a batter is standing, with his feet in a wide stance, the bat resting on his shoulder. To his right the catcher is crouching and his fingers are reaching for the baseball which can be seen in his mitt. Behind the catcher the umpire is leaning to the side for a clearer view of the action. Behind the three men at home plate other players can be seen standing or sitting on a bench and a portion of the bleachers, with spectators, can also be seen. In the far background are trees and the upper stories of a Rice building.
