Lovett World Tour, 1908-1909
In 1908, the Rice Institute Board of Trustees sent their newly chosen President, Edgar Odell Lovett, on a world tour seeking out the best aspects of the leading colleges and universities. On this tour, he gathered information about faculty structures, university architecture, and made important contacts with scholars from all over the world.
