A 1955 William M. Rice Institute men's track event in which Harold Griffin is receiving a relay from George Salmon. They are in the first lane, wearing light-colored shorts and dark jerseys. University of Texas runners are in the second lane, wearing white shorts and jerseys. Officials are standing along the sidelines on both sides of the track, and spectators can be seen in the distance, seated in the stands.
