dc.description.abstract Eleanor Tinsley interviewed by Andy Lai and Edward Chen, 1980. Andy Lai and Edward Chen interview Mrs. Eleanor Tinsley, a member of Houston’s city council, on a radio show. Mrs. Tinsley spoke about her campaign for the city council position and gave advice to people who wanted to be heard by the council. She also spoke about some of the problems and possible projects that the council was facing at the time, including the impact the new convention center might have on “Little” Chinatown, and how the Chinese community might be heard by the city council. She spoke as well about her personal involvement with affirmative action for women in Houston.
