"Last will and testament of William M. Rice, forged by Albert T. Patrick, dated June 30, 1900." (1900): http://hdl.handle.net/1911/63455.
This will was a forgery created by William Marsh Rice's New York lawyer, Albert Patrick, which directed the bulk of Mr. Rice's estate to himself. If left unchallenged, this false will would have replaced the legal will, dated Sept. 26, 1896, in which Mr. Rice left the bulk of his estate for the creation of the Rice Institute in Houston, Texas.
