Engraved map with original handcoloring. 32 3/8 x 23 5/8 inches. Map relined in archival paper. Inset map of the battlefield of Monterrey in upper right hand corner. Bottom portion of map shows principal roads from Vera Cruz and Alvarado to Mexico City, detailing mountains, valleys, plains, volcanoes, and lakes along the way. Also includes a crosscut profile of the principal road between Vera Cruz and Mexico City, showing elevations and heights from sea level at the Gulf of Mexico westwards.
