    Abstract
In this paper, we evaluate several implementation issues in the application of subspace based methods to tracking channel parameters in code division multiple access (CDMA) communication systems, in the presence of multipath fading. We focus on the behavior of singular value decomposition (SVD) based schemes while tracking the time variations in the signal subspace, due to fading. We also evaluate the application of several techniques to reduce the complexity of the computationally expensive SVD procedure, to the channel estimation problem.
