McAllister, Scott Patrick
Master of Music
Aquillae, the Latin word for eagles, is a work for orchestra. This work is in one movement, but it is divided into three sections. Extensive research was done on the general aspects of how eagles live and how they have inspired man throughout history. Aquillae is a piece that mirrors the miraculous survival instincts of the eagle and the important role it represents not only in nature but for all mankind. The main motive for this piece is based on the word "eagle". Each letter is represented by a note: e = E, a = A, g = G, l = B, e = E-flat.
