Determination of linear system random response spectral moments by Hilbert transforms

The stationary response of a linear system excited by a stationary random process is considered. A previously developed approach is extended to determine both the even and odd integer order spectral moments of the system response. The approach offers an alternative to using the theory of complex residues to evaluate the integrals which represent the spectral moments. The corresponding results can be quite useful for conducting random vibration analysis of a variety of dynamic systems exposed to natural loads.
