The Our Americas Archive Partnership (OAAP) provides collections of educational materials consisting of topics grouped together to address a thematic subject area; we refer to each grouping as a "course." Designed to facilitate innovative connections and offer teaching suggestions, these courses introduce ways for students and teachers to link and discuss historical and literary materials. We have developed several essays, referred to here as “modules,” to offer a more in-depth contextual introduction to certain documents in the collection. We have also created more specifically pedagogical modules intended to demonstrate the usefulness of this digital archive to students of history and literature classes as well as those studying the Spanish language and its literature. We hope that instructors will develop their own modules that demonstrate other uses of the documents or that offer more contextual background for specific artifacts.
