Johnny Peden oral history interview and transcript
Johnny Peden grew up in the Houston area and attended college at East Texas Baptist University. He attended seminary at Southwestern Baptist. He became involved in Gay Political Caucus and worked on political campaigns for several Houston political leaders such as Eleanor Tinsley, Mickey Leland, Kathy Whitmire, and Annise Parker. A licensed and ordained minister he co-founded Crossroads, a confidential, spiritual, educational, and social organization for church workers and friends of all faiths and sexual orientations.
