dc.description.abstract Techniques used to measure ion-neutral reaction cross sections are surveyed and evaluated with reference to the energy range between .1 and 1 eV. Previous work using merged beam techniques is discussed and the design and construction of a merged beam apparatus is described. Preliminary results obtained with this apparatus are presented.
