Sir In obedience to your order of the 21st we have held a strict and careful survery on the instruments, charts, and other articles used for navigating this vessel; and beg leave to submit the following report: - On comparing the instruments with the invoices, one (1) Artificial Horizon is missing; one Steering Compass with glass broken; one (1) Sextant with quicksilver off the index-glass; one (1) set of cases for marine glasses missing; one (1) marine-glass broken and one (1) spy-glass broken. All other instruments, charts, &c., according to the invoices are here and in good condition.
