Abstract: Edward Djerejian is the founding director of the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy at Rice University. He joined Rice in 1994 after a 30-year career as a foreign diplomat. He served as ambassador to Syria and Israel and also served in the State Department as the Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs.
