Rice Institute Administration Building, showing the top of one of the two columns which rise on either side of the central Sallyport, the edge of the pedestal adorned with a star and topped with a lead-covered and highly decorated cupola. A flat expanse of prairie and a stand of trees are visible in the distance. The view is towards the southeast.
