The exact provenance of this map is not known. It appears to be an official map of the city of Houston with particular sites marked. Circa 1945 is suggested as the date because the US Naval Hospital is shown as still separate from the US Veterans Hospital, Rice University is shown as Rice Institute and the Cancer Center is shown at the location of the Baker Estate. This map would have been helpful to planners of the Texas Medical Center. |
