Abstract:
|
On the morning of September 15, 1959, Paul Harold Orgeron detonated a bomb at Poe Elementary School that killed three children, a teacher, a custodian and Mr. Orgeron. Nineteen other people were critically injured - two of the children had to have their legs amputated to survive. Orgeron had brought his son to Poe to register him as a student but aroused suspicion when he was unable to answer questions about the child's school history. Orgeron had a long police record dating back twenty years and had served already served three prison terms. (Information from Houston Fire Museum website) |
