Description: Battlefield map. Lithographed battle plan engraved by A. Kollner and lithographed by P.S. Duval. Captioned "Page 363" at upper right corner (i.e. removed from a book). 15 x 21.25 inches. Map shows deployment of United States forces throughout the Battle of El Molino del Rey, which took place on September 8th, 1847. Details include US General Winfield Scott's headquarters in Tacubaya, the storehouses (gunpowder and flour) of the building complexes known as Molino del Rey and Casa de Mata (or Casamata), with lines indicating artillery fire and infantry advances during the course of the battle. Upper right hand corner shows Chapultepec Castle with its surrounding forest and the right hand margin indicates the direction of the road to Mexico City.
